Step 1 Open up you're desired photo.
Step 2 Reduce you're image to size for web, generally around 900 pixels along the longest edge.
Step 3 Increase you're canvas size (Image>Canvas Size) by 3% along you're shortest side and 2% on you're longer side. This will create an even white border around you're image, it will become the bevel of the matte.
Step 4 Select the entire canvas (Ctrl+a) and paste (Ctrl+V), creating a replica layer.
Step 5 With the background layer selected, increase the canvas size by a further 20% along the longer edge and 30% for the shorter edge. This will form the matte of you're frame.
Step 6 With the second layer highlighted, open the Blending Options window (Right click on the layer and select Blending Options, or Layer>Layer Style>Blending Options). For this particular frame, I used these settings: Style: Inner Technique: Smooth Depth: 341% Soften: 8px BevelSize: 4px Direction: Up This has now created the bevel in the matte
Step 7 Flatten the image (Layer>Flatten Image) so the matte and bevel are now in the one layer.
Step 8 Increase the canvas size by 6% and 8%, to the longer and shorter sides respectively, with the colour set to black.
Step 9 Select, using the magic wand tool, all of the black canvas, copy and paste it to form a new layer. This is you're frame.
